If you’ve ever wondered how to love my natural hair and beauty or how to detangle my natural hair issues–  you need Hairlooms!

I wrote Hairlooms: The Untangled Truth About Loving Your Natural Hair and Beauty after years of trying to figure out how to love my natural hair. When I finally learned how to transition to natural hair, I still had to battle my emotions. Learning how to reduce natural hair breakage  and high hair shrinkage did nothing for my feelings. I couldn’t really explain why I hate my natural hair, but that’s how I felt.

Talks with other black women who wear natural hair let me know many feel the same.

Hairlooms is the story of my emotional and hair transition plus “hair” stories from 32 amazing men and women I interviewed over the course of 6 years. Hairlooms includes my personal interviews with some people you already know:

Whether you  wear a lace front or twist out, the numbers show that the struggle for Black women with curly hair is real.  When you learn to love yourself – over time – the issues  slip like well-conditioned natural hair. Don’t wait ‘til tomorrow. What will you comb through today?
